“At first, all the Kardashians were really happy about Kylie’s makeover because she was so shy and insecure and it gave her self-esteem a needed boost. No one was expecting it to take on a life of its own, however. If anything, Kim was expecting to have to compete with Kendall for the limelight, but now it’s like this dark horse has come out of nowhere and is starting to make Kim feel like she’s about to go the way of Paris Hilton.”
But Kim is hopeful that as soon as the baby comes, she will be the queen again. “The last time her fame and popularity were really threatened was when she divorced Kris Humphries. She was really starting to fall out of favor with the public, and her PR team was scrambling to do damage control, but then she married Kanye [West], had a baby, and she’s been the top news story around the world ever since.”
Baby number two is due in early Dec., and then it will just be an avalanche of media and press. “Kim and Kanye will be offered millions for the baby pictures, as every magazine is going to want to do a cover story. Kim and her family will be dominating every website once again. And then, Kylie will just be another pretty part of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. It’s kind of like when Britney Spears shaved her head.
It was all anyone talked about for months, but then they moved on to the next thing.”Kim obviously loves her little sister, Kylie, but her sudden fame has triggered Kim’s competitive streak. “No Kardashian would be the least bit relevant if not for Kim, and she’s not going to let her baby sister usurp her. Of course, this is not something she would ever reveal in mixed company. She’s all, ‘I’m so happy for Kylie! It’s so nice to see her come out of her shell.'”
